Theridula spp.

This genus of Theridiids has not, as of early 2012, been recorded for Australia, despite it being included in Mascord's Spider's of Australia in 1980 and commonly found in south east Queensland. Mascord's specimen seems to be the same as the one first shown here, similar to the cosmopolitan Theridula gonygaster but differing in the pattern of yellow blobs on the black abdomen and the clear lower section of the cephalothorax. ♀ 2mm ♂ 1.5mm
