Oedignatha scrobiculata Thorell, 1881 South East Asian Oedignatha

Small dark, somewhat bulbous spiders with slender front legs waved to imitate ants. The dorsal scutum (hardened shield-like plate) on the abdomen extends to about three-quarters the length of the abdomen, and enhances the ant-like appearance. The carapace is stippled and shiny. Possibly spread by humans, principally known from South East Asia. Recently in family Corinnidae. ♀ 5mm ♂ 5.5mm
